Memory card slot

Hi,

I've used computers since they came out.  All of a sudden I've been having problems with my flash drives and SD memory card.  I was using a 256mg SD card.  I must have pulled it out too fast?  I can read it on external readers and other computers, but now it's not even seen (doesn't even light up) when I plug it into my E520.  My E520 can read another SD card ok.  And I CAN read it on the E520 using an external reader.

So my question is when a card or a flash drive gets wrecked when it's plugged into a pc, then that pc sd slot or usb port can't read it anymore?

FYI, you might want to do a system restore to a date prior to this issue.

Maybe a corrupt file or driver.  Just a suggestion.  Remember a system restore

and not a pc restore.

Restoring is only a one time fix.  I started a new thread over in Desktops, General Harware, Card Reader Crashing with a lot more info.  Please help me there.

I don't know where to post this on the forum. Last nigt my computer started opening web pages on its own.

I ran mal ware and adaware. Malware found 44 things wrong' 12 of them were trojans. I removed them all.

This morning it is still opening web pages of ads on its own.

My computer is very slow and the pages that are opening on their own are ads or weird sites I have never been to.

thank you

Linda
