How to stop my continuous flickering Dell SE2417HG monitor upon startup?
HELP PLEASE SOMEONE!-
My son has just a 6 month old Dell 24" Gaming Monitor that is my main display monitor, connected to my Alienware 15 R2 Laptop. For only the past week, every single time I either restart or reboot my computer, my gaming monitor flickers gray to black continuously, and my sign on screen disappears completely from my laptop screen.
I actually have to unplug my HDMI monitor cable from my laptop, that allows the sign-on screen to return back to my laptop, and then once I sign in, I have to plug my HDMI cable back into the laptop, and functionality resumes on my gaming monitor! How ridiculous is this?!!
WHY?!! I have been speaking with manufacturer for 3 days straight, and they cannot seem to find a fix.
PLEASE HELP, I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT ON BEHALF OF MY SON

I presume you used the HDMI port on the monitor when you connected to the other PC. So that likely rules the monitor out....
Re-post in the Alienware Club forum where the experts on these systems hang out...
Good luck!

Can you test this monitor on a different PC, or a different monitor on this PC, so you can rule the monitor out as the problem?
If that doesn't help, you'll probably get a better response if you re-post this in the Alienware Club forum. And be sure to mention the version of Windows on the Alienware too.

Hi Rohe,
Thanks for the great advice. I did actually check my monitor on another PC, and I the screen did not flicker upon sign in. Wishful thinking that this problem would be so simple as a monitor hardware issue.

I did use the HDMI port on my monitor when testing with my other PC, yes. Thanks for replying back! I did post in the Alienware Club Forum, and sure hope someone might be able to help me.
Thanks again RoHe.
