Dell A525, Replacing speakers only
I have the A525 speaker system, it's pretty old(05). The speaker wire went out on me, I wanted to know if anyone that had the system was able to buy speakers that had the same vga connection as the Dell ones or if there is anyway I can fix the cord. It seems like I would have to buy an entirely new set which I don't want to do.

Hi Lffl,
I'm pretty sure you are not using a VGA connection for your speakers. But anyway, there are plenty of 2.1 speakers on the market, any of which will work with any computer. My suggestion would be to shop locally so you can listen to them.

Speaker systems are in the "throwaway" computer parts department. Even if you could get them fixed it would cost more than what they sold for. The internal connections are proprietary and only another exact speaker would work.
Take Osprey"s advice and go buy a new set.
