Crashing on startup.

hi, I have a desktop computer. Recently I tried to uninstall StarCraft but couldn't as computer couldn't find it. Eventually I located the folder and deleted it. Since then the computer is crashing on startup. It comes up with the dell loading page, the blue bar loads 99% tthen stops. It says dell xps720 and bios revision a06. At the top it says F2 = setup and f12 = boot menu. F2 does nothing at all, and f12 does nothing but beep. However if I hold down f12 for a full minute while trying to load it comes up with the boot menu.

I clicked on hard drive diagnostics and it said "Alert! Previous attempts at booting this system have failed at checkpoint (bye). Contact dell tech support.

Diagnostics running, please wait...

Drive 0-3: No device

Drive 4: pbds DVD +\-rw dh-16w1s - diagnostics not supported.

Drive 5-7: No device

Test complete. Press enter to reboot.

Crash.

Can you help please?

Hi bananatree,

Thanks for posting.

Apologies that your computer is not working as expected.

From what you've described, it sounds like your Operating System has become corrupted.  Have you tried reinstalling or repairing the OS?

Here is some information from the Dell Knowledge Base you may find helpful.
