Unity XT380 NFS v4 and VVOL
Hello,
I'm in the process of setting up a new environment with vSphere 7.0 U3 and a Unity XT380 VVOLs using NFS v4. However, when I enabled the VVOL feature in the NAS server in Unity, I had to select NFSv3. Although I also checked NFSv4, the vvol datastore is only being presented to the ESXi servers using NFSv3.
I'm looking for guidance on how to configure the system to use NFSv4 instead of NFSv3. Any insights or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Is the datastore new as well or are you using an existing datastore? If using a existing datastore, you may want to look at this kb to see if it is any assistance. https://dell.to/44bT73V

Sam, thanks for you reply. It is a brand new vvol datastore. I don't think the KB provided applies to my case since with vvols there is no folder mounted.
I can't find anything in the official documentation., not sure support can be helpful ...

With it being a new datastore and VVol it should allow you to use NFSv4 first, and if not available then it should use NFSv3. The best way to figure out what is going on is to open a support case so that we can pull some logs to see what is going on.
