MD3000 PowerVault parts description
Hello Team,
I have to purchase parts for a MD3000 that is about to exit its warranty. I entered its service tag in the DELL's warranty portal but much of the codes description are cryptic.
Long ago I found this page where each cryptic description has its detailed description. This is an example for a PE2950 server (http://www.it-expertzone.com/dell-poweredge-servers/131-pe2950/104-dell-poweredge-2950-spare-parts.html). Now I know I wont be purchasing disk or power supply fillers nor a bag with a thanks-for-buying-this-server letter in the case of the PE2950.
Does anyone know where can I find the human readable codes listing for a MD3000?. I am using this service tag as example: (Removed by moderator for security pourposes).
I am sorry this post is off-topic.
Thanks in advance,
- Andres

The majority of the part numbers you provided are parts that are not able to be sold. They will marked with MOD in front of the description. That means factory installed and not able to be sold.
GF484 - base MD3000
CM670 - Dual port controller assembly
XM792 - base unit MD1000
75UFC - MOD HDD carrier blank
FC618 - MOD Rack Rail 3U
U9426 - Rapid Rail Kit for MD array
PD991 - MOD 1meter assy cable
R8200 - MOD 4X SAS Cable (1 Meter)
KH414 - MOD info on SAS5E controller
DN458 - MOD,INFO,DELLSTAR,MULTISELECT
WM941 - 73GB SAS 15k 3.5in HDD
WM945 - 146GB SAS 15K 3.5in HDD
I hope this helps. Also if you know what other parts you need to buy if you tell me what you need I can find the correct part number you need to order.

I am not aware of a site like the one you provided for the MD3000. However if you let me know what parts you are looking for I can provide you with the part numbers that you need.

If you provide the short descriptions, I can usually figure out what they really represent.

www.ambry.com is a reliable website also. I used go to there whenever I had troubles finding spare parts.

Thank you i-maxim; I've found that onlinesell.ro has alternative and replacement part numbers.
