UPS Device Info Report?
We recently started discovering UPS devices in OME. Looks like we get a small amount of info from them like online status, device name, serial number, model, and battery info like "battery replacement required" and "recommended replacement date". But we have no way of accessing it for all devices at one glance. I have to go to each device in the UI and click over to where the info is. I don't see anything in reports that lets me get the info.
Also, every UPS device shows the IP for the name in OME instead of the collected name from the device. Would be nice if the name was used instead of the IP for the device name in OME.

Hello,
DNS is how OME determines the name of a device. Do you usually put your UPS in DNS?
There is no OME GUI for a single attribute to be viewed for all devices.
I think this Whitepaper may help with some of this:
Getting Started with OpenManage Enterprise Power Manager
https://dell.to/3xbSFGN
Have you added devices and groups to monitoring list?
Device Discovery Before and After Installation of the Plugin
Have you tried re-run the inventory ? Page 17
Adding Groups to Monitoring List page 18
Power Manager offers multiple reports built in. page 34
If you want, the plugin also utilizes the OpenManage Enterprise feature of building custom reports to help you build custom reports for capturing power monitoring and management related data

Hi, We have the Power Manager plugin installed (v3.2.0.180). I don't see any reports related to UPS devices available, however.
UPS devices are added via SNMP trap during discovery and are auto-sorted into the UPS Devices group under System Groups.

Sorry, I just found the built-in report. I was trying to do a custom report and didn't see any of the UPS device info as a selection.

We don't have any devices added to the Power Manager plug-in so will have to look into that to see if the built-in report works. Right now, it's giving us no data.

So, when I try to add UPS Devices to Power Manager it shows no devices that I can add. But we have many UPS Devices showing from the Devices > System Devices > UPS Devices group.

Hello,
Have you followed this method to add devices to the Monitoring List:
• In OpenManage Enterprise, click Power Management →Monitored Devices and Groups →Individual Devices
• Select the devices under Add Devices to Power Manager section
• Click Add Selected.
Devices added to the Monitoring List are displayed under All Monitored Devices tab and, the metric collection for these devices begin in the background.

Yes, on the 'Add devices to Power Manager' window the 'UPS Devices' group shows up under 'System Groups' but there are no UPS devices to add in Power Manager.

Could you try to create a Custom Group and add the UPS devices to that?

I created a custom static group, added all the UPS devices to the group, added the group as a Static Group in Power Manager. It shows 0 devices monitored.

That was going to me my next suggestion.
Could you see what you get on steps 2 and 3 below?
1. Launch OpenManage Enterprise, and then click Plugins > Power Management > Power Manager Devices.
The Power Manager Devices tab is displayed.
2. Click Individual Devices > Add device(s).
The Add Devices to Power Manager page is displayed.
3. View all the devices that are discovered in OpenManage Enterprise by expanding the SYSTEM GROUPS section on the left
side and in the All Devices tab. Select the UPS devices that you want to add.

That is the issue, in all cases, anywhere you check inside Power Manager, you can't find the UPS devices. As shown below pic you can see the devices from the main Devices page.
But anywhere you look in Power Manager, in any of the groups or in the All Devices group, you can't find the UPS devices.

What Mfg. and model UPS are you using?
Do you have the ability to call in to Support? Give a service tag with a warranty to get to an engineer and a Systems Management engineer can do a remote session with you to get a look. The forum can't do remote sessions like that.

We have all Schneider Electric APC units. Models ( Smart-UPS SRT 3000 | Smart-UPS 1500 | Smart-UPS X 1500 | Smart-UPS 1500 XLM )
Yes, if that is the next step that we must take I can open a support case.
Also, FYI, you said the devices get their name in OME from DNS. We have all our UPS devices in DNS, but the device name in OME is the IP address.

Thank you,
That may be the best next step to contact Support.
