Permission denied on DRMInstaller_3.4.2.818.bin install
Hi All,
I try to set up DRM on a RHEL8 machine and get the following. It will say permission denied within a second, so I supsect something else here.
As you can see selinux isn't blocking it.
I do have .sign file in the same directory.
Anyone ran into this?
[root@acckeydral01 DRM]$ ./DRMInstaller_3.4.2.818.bin
-bash: ./DRMInstaller_3.4.2.818.bin: Permission denied
[root@mymachine DRM]$ sestatus
SELinux status: enabled
SELinuxfs mount: /sys/fs/selinux
SELinux root directory: /etc/selinux
Loaded policy name: targeted
Current mode: permissive
Mode from config file: enforcing
Policy MLS status: enabled
Policy deny_unknown status: allowed
Memory protection checking: actual (secure)
Max kernel policy version: 33
[root@acckeydral01 DRM]$ ll DRMInstaller_3.4.2.818.bin
-rwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 340246998 May 12 11:05 DRMInstaller_3.4.2.818.bin
[root@mymachine DRM]$

Hi Again, I created a Downloads folder under root and now it runs. I did this just because the video says so, but it's not really clear that it really needs to be there and it checks it. I do get another java message, but I will figure that one out.
Thanks for the replies

Hi Thanks for the answer, but I don't use a browser, I am following this:
(1) How to Install Dell EMC Repository Manager on a Linux Operating System - YouTube
so I don't have a desktop environment at all.
But after I try to run the .bin file, it spits out the permission denied message

Hello Cornelis,
Can you confirmed you used these steps?
1. Download the .bin installer and .sign file.
2. WinSCP them to the Linux system.
3. Run .\DRMinstall.bin.
Note: Sometimes you may have to chdmod the file.
4. Accept license terms.
5. Select option of install, with 1 being Default/root.
6. DRM now installs.
