OME and search-domains
So if my openmanage-server is "ome.sub.domain.net", and my DNS has entries like "server1-idrac.sub.domain.net" and so on. Cant i tell OME to have a so called "search domain", so that i can search (discover) by simply entering "server1-drac", and OME automatically appends ".sub.domain.net".
You know, how it usually works...
I can see where i set DNS servers, but nothing about search domains there.

Hello
I don't think you can do this, maybe you can find more information on this guide
Dell EMC OpenManage Enterprise 3.9 User's Guide
Thanks

Why cant i do this?
Devices should be able to communicate with each other using their short names when they are in the same domain.
I mean, thats standard...

Yes but I mean you cannot set search domains, this is something to configure on DNS server side, not on the OME side

Yes it is already configured in dhcp, and works fine for other servers.
Just doesnt work for OME.
And sometimes these kind of settings can be overridden in a device.
But anyway, i guess that OME does not understand that it should be able to use short names.
Something to put in the tasks-list for the developers perhaps:)
