DNS Name of an entry not updated in OpenManage v4.0.0 (Build 202) but happened as well with earlier 3.x version

Hi,

How can we purge an entry from OpenManage Enterprise ? I've one server entry that is displaying the wrong name (DNS Name) within OpenManage (server changed name a few time over the years). I've updated all parameters on the iDRAC, updated firmware, restarted it then did the "Refresh Inventory" from OpenManage, I see the new name refreshed for a few seconds then the old name is displayed again so looks like an issue on OpenManage itself. I tried to remove the entry and re-add it to OpenManage but same problem/behaviour.
How can we purge an entry completely from OpenManage to be sure we are clean ? or how to edit maybe manually an entry from OpenManage tool ? looks like a bug from OpenManage.
Thank you

Hello,

First check there isn't a rogue DNS A record out there.

OME does not delete the information for a system completely, right away. It holds cache for seven day. After that you can rediscover.

OME holds the information and uses the information it already knew about the device to save time. So if you want to rediscover it, wait seven days and it should work.

If you need it cleaned out right away you will need to contact Support directly and they can clean the DB manually via FSD process to SSH in and run psql commands.
