Dell OME Reports
We have Dell OME 3.9.0. I have setup a report to run on a daily basis to let us know any failed hard drives on our t440's.
If I run the report manually and add in my email address and set it to attach an xls report it runs fine. If I try to schedule the report, it runs at the scheduled time, but it will not email the report.
I get two notifications:
Failed to download the reports
Failed to send report to email recipients
I have not selected the option to save to a share, but it fails as well when I try it.

Hello srjohnston1980
I've outlined a few things to check they are configured correctly and test again:
Run and email reports :

Schedule and delivery options for reports :

Configure SMTP, SNMP, and Syslog alerts
If the email configuration is not set or if you want to change the existing email setup, click on Go to SMTP Settings. Check settings and Send Test Email :

View and remove report schedule details :

Troubleshoot connections :

Here's how to work with reports in OpenManage Enterprise, You can run the standard reports, edit them or create your own from scratch. You can view the results, save them in a variety of formats or have them sent by email.

If I right click on my report and use run and email now, it will email out the report properly with the attachment. If I then try to schedule the report it attempts to run at the correct time, but get an email notification to say it was not able to download the report, or email the report.

Hello srjohnston1980,
Does it happen on your custom report only or any report?

Hi it happens on any report, if I run the reports manually I get the email. But if I run them via schedule I get the "can not download report" and "can not email report" alerts.
I also tested saving both to a share. If I test connection to the share it is successful, but when I try to run it as a schedule same thing.

Hi @srjohnston1980,
Just to confirm that you mentioned, it happens on any report, that includes the Built-in report (shown in your first screenshot)?
There is an upgrade of OME 3.9, would you mind upgrading it to 3.9.2 then to 3.10. https://dell.to/431FgMa
Let us know if the issue persist after the upgrade.

Ok. If I change the SMTP settings from Authorization to Relay (we use gmail) the reports email out properly. Make sure under Application Settings -> Console Preferences -> Email Sender Setting is properly set to a From Email Address with the proper domain. The default is admin@dell.com.

Hello,
Same here, I'm running Dell OME v3.9.2.7 and have same issue.
When I manually "Run and Email" a custom report or built-in report, the report runs and is emailed to me. It does not matter which format I select (e.g., HTML vs CSV).
However, when I try and schedule a custom or built-in report, the report appears to run but fails at sending via email with error "Failed to download the generated reports".

By the way, also noticed another issue that is related but different.
It appears that a previously created custom report, which was deleted about a couple of hours after it was created, is still trying to automatically run even though the custom report is no longer there.

Thought I had posted my solution.
I got this to work with SMTP setup as a relay.
You need to be sure that your email sender setting has something with you domain in it. Application Settings -> Console Preferences -> Email Sender Setting. The default is admin@dell.com.
