Exporting custom reports in DPA

Hi, I have a custom report template, based on "Media Details for Used Volumes", that I've edited to reduce the number of fields. Is there any way to run the report manually and export the output to html/pdf etc? I can run the original system version of the report and export by going to "Report actions/Email report", but not with the custom one.

Thanks.

Hi,

When you create a custom report in DPA and you want to run it from the UI, then you first need to add it to a menu. If you already have a custom menu then you can just add this new report on to it. If you have not yet created a new menu, then you must first take a copy of the Navigator menu, create a new menu folder, and add this report under there.

Then make sure your user is set to use this menu (log out and back in if you have to change it), and then you should be able to run this new custom report from the Run Reports section.

Thanks

Thanks so much. Do you know if there's a setting to make the report show "Used" in TB rather than MB?

In general, most data in DPA is gathered in MB, and the unit you see in the report is often set to automatically scale.

You can change this at either the run time of a report (both system and custom reports) or hard coded within a custom report. The process to change it is the same regardless of which approach you are using.

When you are running it (either via the UI or inside the custom report editor) there will bean option called Report Format. Click on that and you will see an option called Table Format. Select that and select the Series tab. Select the Format Columns button. Here you will see every field being returned by the report and you have the ability to click on the "Scale To" column for the Used field and change it from Automatic to MB.
