PowerProtect DD Series Compatibility

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a document that certifies PowerProtect DD Series Appliances have compatiblity with Postgresql and Microsoft Sql, etc. I've been looking for any compatibility matrix of these appliances and didn't found anything, does anyone have a document like this?

Thanks in advance

what kind of compatibility would you even be looking for? As compatibility would be through software, not really through the underlying hardware.

If you don't use any backup software, but simply wanna dump database exports/dumps unto a DD, by having the DD present itself as either CIFS or NFS share, than it is only about whether the OS that the DB runs on supports CIFS or NFS, but not the DB in question.

If a backup product supports the DB's in question, then it is about whether the backup product supports the OS and DB combination and what DDOS version it supports. Also depends again on the used protocol.

If you want to directly write backups to a DD using boostFS for example, then it is also about what OS and DB boostFS supports.

Or Application Direct (formelry known as DDBEA) that uses ddboost protocol to write to a DD directly from a supported DB.

So what is your intended use case going to be, to be able to state what is and isn't supported? A backup application managing backup schedules, standalone implementation writing backups directly to a DD using ddboost protocol, either integrated or via boostFS. Or simply dumping data on a DD using either CIFS or NFS?
