I recommend you engage EMC professional Services for detailed configuration of the DD in HA mode. The documents on public domain are useless

You will need 2 Fixed IP and 1 Floating IP for HA Mode. Each Fixed IP is configured on Primary and Secondary Controller. Floating IP Must have a FQDN attached to it, that will be used for the HA-NAME when configuring HA

You will need minimum 2 x 1GB Copper Cables , and depending on how many 10GB devices you have you will need minimum 2 x 10GB fibre cable  and 2 x Floating IP for the 10GB Devices

I can write the whole procedure here for you , but I suspect I am not allowed as it is not official EMC document.

There is NO detailed procedure document describing every single pre-requisite and configuration step, someone prove me wrong and send it to me

From ALL the doco I could find, this is the Only steps for HA published... really? this is not helpful at all unless you engage PS or unless you have a DD in non-prod that you can work out the required steps in the correct Sequence

Also HA can ONLY be configured from DDOS CLI.

Configure HA

Before you begin l The HA interconnect between both nodes is connected.

Note

Connecting the HA interconnect on page 69 describes how to cable the HA interconnect.

l The data connections on both nodes are connected. Configure the two nodes as an HA pair.

Note

Configuring an HA pair sets the system password on the standby node to match the system password on the active node, however, that synchronization is not set until the HA configuration is complete. If the HA configuration fails, or if there is a need to access either node before the HA configuration is complete, use the serial number of each node as the password.

Procedure 1. Identify which node will serve as the primary node. 2. On the primary node, create the HA pairing. Run the following command: ha create peer { | } [ha-name

Note

l Specify the hostname or the IP address of the standby node. l Specifying an HA system name: n Assigns node 0 the local hostname -p0. n Assigns node 1 the local hostname -p1. l The ha create command will fail if one node is configured to use DHCP and the other node is configured to use static IP addresses. Both nodes must use the same method to configure IP addresses.

ha create peer mysystem-p1.emc.com ha-name mysystem.emc.com Both nodes reboot, and are configured as an HA pair when they come back up. 3. On the primary node, configure one or more floating IP addresses for data access. Run the following command: net config netmask type floating

Configure System for Use

78 Data Domain DD6300, DD6800, and DD9300 Systems 6.1  Hardware Overview and Installation Guide

Note

The net config command with the float option is the only way to configure a floating IP address. There is no method available in Data Domain System Manager to configure a floating IP address.

net config eth1a 2.2.2.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 type floating

After a long discussion with support and a solid practical experience, we solved the problem.

The procedure generated by SolveDesktop might missing somethings.

after disable the file system in primary node. we should

#storage remove disks   ' to remove the SSDs one by one.

then, follow the procedures in SolveDesktop.
