Problem with my DFS account number on-line
I tried to create an on-line profile with Dell Financial Services using my account number on my statement so I could pay it. After entering the correct number 3 times, it repeatedly stated "unrecognized" account number. I tried calling customer service and got no where. I tried to pay my bill on Friday and it is due on Monday. They will give you options to pay your bill on the phone for a fee, but will not help you if you have a problem accessing the on-line payment option that has no fee. Is anyone else having this problem?

Having the same problem - the Dell online interface is a complete maze. Is a DFS number an acocunt number or are they unrelated? The paperwork that came with my computer doesn't have either and has some other number. There are apparently several different logins for the site - account, financial services, tech, forum. Absolutely nothing is connected or related despite everything being 'Dell'
Dell - what you do is set up a link in the account tab that say - 'pay my bill'
Allow users to enter a credit card or debit card number to pay you
Simple and easy and you won't get stiffed on payments - just make it possible to pay you online.
Your current system does not do that. If you have a method for online payment that doesn't require researching some mystical magic number then prove me wrong and post instructions on how to pay...

Hi Kevin660111,
I found the frequently asked questions about this.

Hi Kevin,
I regret you are experiencing difficulties with your Dell Financial Services (DFS) account.
Understand that Dell Inc. and Dell Financial Services (DFS) are two separate entities. They are unable to access our records and we are unable to access theirs. Please be certain you are going to the correct website at www.dellfinancialservices.com. Once you have created a profile online for your Dell Preferred Account (DPA), and are logged in, you’ll see the “make a payment” option.
I trust this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact me by clicking on my name in blue if you need any additional assistance. Please provide your Dell, Inc. customer name, account number, order number and/or service tag number so that I may access your account records and improve your customer experience going forward.
Thanks,
Lorna
