persistent fcid in Cisco mds

Hi,

I am new to Cisco san.

I know if persistent fcid is enabled , n ports can be moved anywhere in the switch but within vsan and fcid will not change. But can a n-ports be moved across switches ? Can I move port from switch a to switch b in same vsan and keep fcid persistent? I don't feel it should...but not sure.

I would appreciate it if anybody can guide how fcid handled in Cisco world.
