How to upgrade/migrate EMC Brocade DS4100 with DS5100B Core Switches Help Procedure Assistance
I'm reaching out for assistance regarding the replacement of two EMC Branded Brocade Departmental Switches DS-4100's with two new DS-5100B switches. Is anyone aware of an actual procedure that is specific to this type of upgrade? Both switches are the primary switches (Core Switches) serving connectivity to multiple Edge Switches carved into Fabric A and Fabric B. These switches are critical to the SAN and provide the backbone to the entire hospital storage infrastructure. I need a well executed plan that is fool proof.
Has anyone performed an upgrade similar to the one I am describing?
I'd like to replace the hardware, plug the fiber cables back in and everything function seamlessly.
What is the best way to replace the old switches and keep the zoning etc in place?
Insurance, I'm looking to buy some
A pretty picture of the two switches I am being tasked with to replace. Just for those of you like me and like to have visual aids.

Sorry to take so long getting back to you on this Terry. I saw your post a while back and just haven't managed to get to it until now.
I don't think this replacement will be as bad as you might think, but there are a few questions I would like to get cleared up before hand that can make a huge difference in how you proceed. For some reason I can't see the picture in your post, so if they are answered by the picture, that why I'm still asking.
I'm kind of hoping your answer will be that you are running a completely Brocade B series fabric in native mode with current FOS levels across the board, but if not we can still work with that.
