DELL POWERCONNECT 7024
Hello to the entire community, I have a problem with the Dell 7024 switch, the main problem I have is not being able to add IP addressing to a physical interface of the switch, what I want to do is that the physical port to which I want to add IP is convert it into a router port with the command (no switchport) it does not allow me to perform the action to assign the ip What would be the correct way to add IP to any physical interface, and if it is possible to do it as in Cisco multilayers.

Hello Leo98,
Have you tried the steps listed on page 883 of the following guide?

@DELL-Sam L Do you mean carrying out the action graphically in its web interface?

Hello Leo98,
You can do it from either the web interface or via cli, as they are both listed in the guide.

@DELL-Sam L The link you left me does not work, when I do it through the cli and enter the interface with the following commands:
int gi1/0/1 no switchport mode
The only commands that are available are:
arp
ip
dhcp snooping
and the ip address command is not available, the IOS version of the dell switch is 3.1.x.x from 2013
Could you send me the link to the manual please?

These are the commands that I have available, as I mentioned previously, I need to add an IP to a physical interface which still does not allow me to do so, I also consulted the Dell PowerConnect 7000 switch manual and it does not work for me either. What could be the cause, or what would be the steps to follow so that I can add that IP to the physical interface.

Hello Leo98,
What is your current version of firmware on your switch?

@DELL-Sam L the switch versión is, 4.1.0.8.
In order to have a non-switch port and add IP to a physical interface, I would need to update the firmware version, if that were the case, where could I download the firmware and what steps should I follow to be able to update the device image.

Hello Leo98,
That is a really old version of firmware and I would suggest that you upgrade to the latest version of 5.1.18.1. Here is the link to the download. https://dell.to/3YQggst
Here is also a link to the upgrade instructions. https://dell.to/4cx2nm0

@DELL-Sam L I already want to update the firmware version and have the switch boot with the new firmware version but I am not yet able to add IP to the physical interface of the switch. I leave you some images so you can verify it.
