Connectivity between Brocade 6505 and DCX-4S with Virtual Fabric
Hi,
We want to connect Brocade 6505 to Brocade DCX-4S. DCX-4S is using Virtual Fabric and Brocade 6505 doesn't support Virtual Fabric. I understand brocade 6505 could be connected to DCX-4S only if 6505 is configured as access gateway (NPIV). Is it correct? Or would be possible to connect 6505 (not access gateway) to one Virtual Fabric on DCX-4S?

Hi,
Late response, but response none the less.
Virtual Fabric enabled switch will accept a connection to a non Virtual Fabric (or not enabled Virtual Fabric) switch with a so called DISL (Dedicated ISL). Just plug in the ISL into the Logical switch, remember all fabric merge requirements apply.
Or you can use it an AG (Access Gateway), both will work.
