CMCNE 11.2.1

I am currently using CMDCE 10.4.3 and my environment is all fiber. What are the real features that I will gain by going on to CMCNE 11.2.1? Also can anyone tell me what are the real major differences between datacenter edition and converged edition?

You won't notice much difference to be honest. I upgraded just for the sake of staying current, but nothing, short of a new dashboard, really changes. I'm hoping the next version greatly improves upon the reporting aspect of the product.

The rumours I'm hearing about v12.x are that they will have a lot of new and improved reporting features in there. I haven't got any details yet (and probably couldn't share too much if I did) but I understand that reporting is one of the major areas of focus for the next version.

Tell me what are the real major differences between data center edition and converged edition?

Basically the name of the software just changed after version 10.4.5 the software was called CMCNE after that realse it was re-named CMCNE.

CMDCE:- Connectrix Manager Data Center Edition Edition --> Up to version 10.4.3

CMCNE:- Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition  -> Then from version 11.1.1 its called CMCNE

i.e -->

Connectrix Manager Data Center Edition (CMDCE) 10.4.3

Connectrix Manager Data Center Edition (CMDCE) 10.4.5

Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition (CMCNE) 11.1.1

Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition (CMCNE) 11.1.4

Connectrix Manager Converged Network Edition (CMCNE) 11.2.1

etc...

The documentation for CMCNE 11.2.1 is available at the following location.

It contains a user guide and realse notes. You can refer to that document to see what difference are in the newer software.

Along with that I have a link to the realse notes also. The release notes or a good tool for checking for difference's.

I noticed a lot of stability enhancements between the two versions- both in the server and client, but we have been pushing the supported domain & fabric limits since 10.4.3.  I upgraded to 12.0.3 recently and think it has been worthwhile to upgrade to the latest.  For example, the bottleneck monitoring config management and dashboards are more robust.  There are a lot of little things that have improved, but they still really need to work on the performance monitoring tools and reporting options.
