Installing Enterprise Manager with SQL DB - needs admin rights on SQL server?

Hi,

Just installing the Compellent Enterprise Manager which I intend to use with a SQL database located on our SQL 2008 R2 server - the problem is the install guide says that I need admin permissions on the SQL server so it can create the database for the Data collector (compmsauser), however my SQL DBA is not fine with this idea. Is there not a SQL script or similar that can be run on the SQL server to create the database? No-one in their right mind is going to allow a random piece of software full admin access to a live SQL box hosting other databases!

The systemadmin (sa) user is only used one time and that is when the Enterprise Manager software is creating and configuring the  database (named compmsadb), and creating the local user compmsauser. Once this process has been completed Enterprise manager will not use this login again, and the sa account can be disabled. There are no scripts that can be used in order to bypass this process. It is possible to create an administrator level user account in order to install the Enterprise Manager software. Contact Copilot at 866-397-8673, or support@compellent.com in order to request information on this.
