Has anyone experienced thermal issues with Dell Chromebook 3110's?  Since the ChromeOS 109+ update, which corrected the random shutdown and battery issues, we are now seeing issues with devices getting extremely warm and shutting down most likely due to thermal tolerances being exceeded.

Try these methods-

Ensure proper ventilation: Make sure the Chromebook is placed on a flat and stable surface that allows for adequate airflow. Avoid using it on surfaces that can block the vents, such as blankets or pillows.

Clean the vents: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate in the vents, hindering proper airflow and causing heat buildup. Use compressed air or a soft brush to clean the vents and remove any obstructions.

Update Chrome OS: Keeping your Chromebook up to date with the latest software updates can help address known issues and improve system performance, including thermal management. Ensure that you have installed any available updates for Chrome OS.

Check for background processes: Some applications or processes running in the background might be putting a strain on system resources and causing excessive heat. Check the Task Manager in Chrome OS (press Shift + Esc) to identify any CPU-intensive tasks or processes. Consider closing unnecessary tabs or applications.

Power wash or reset Chromebook: Performing a power wash or resetting your Chromebook to factory settings can help resolve software-related issues that could be contributing to the thermal problems. Remember to back up your important files before proceeding, as a power wash will remove all locally stored data.
