We need a bit more information than that.

What product was used to archive it to Centera?

thanks for the reply.

servers have access to CUA for archiving.

HI if you know the full UNC pathname of the file thats on the CUA then you will be able to access the file through it.

Are you saying you no longer have the CUA or there is some other reason you cant use it to access your file?

ok, so i get the path on the CUA (...\gateway_nfs\blah\b.log), and then i tried to copy to another location, It gives an error, unable to copy as the file is not readable.

So the question is, where do i find a good working one? if it has been archived 3 years back, how do i correct it. Maybe its a dumb question, but thanks again for the response.

There are no dumb questions here.

I'll first say I'm not a CUA expert but from the gateway_nfs part that means you should have an NFS mount point on the CUA through which you can access blah\b.log     Does that ring a bell ??

Hello Red -

The quickest path to resolution for a limited number of files is to open a support case with EMC. Their support engineers can see 'inside' the CUA and Centera to copy out inaccessible data.

If this is a more chronic issue and you would like to copy out all of the CUA data directly from Centera to an alternate NFS target, then my company Interlock Technology (www.interlock-tech.com) can provide compliant, high-speed CAS -> NAS migration services.  We can engage with you directly or through your EMC account team.

thanks Paul.

I can view the nfs share from that server, but unfortunately that file is corrput. i cant do a file b.log on that, rest of the files are ok.

is there anyway i can get it from an earlier good working date,. I am also looking at the possiblility of a backup taken on this server. let me see how that goes.

thanks again.
