NFS/CIFS Access to Centera
Hello Folks,
We want to implement NFS and CIFS access to Centera ; on the Bill Of Materiel we have 1x BUNDLED 4 NODE GEN4LP 3TB FACTORY INST and 4x BUNDLED 2 NODE GEN4LP 3TB UPG FACT INST
Any advise will be very appreciated,

Centera intentionally does not support a native CIFS/NFS access. Only the CAS APIs are accepted. For NIF/CIFS your need a "preprocessor" which supports C/FS/NFS on one side and send the files to Centera via the CAS API)S calls. EMC offers the CUA (=Centera node with special SW) for this.

Hi all
We've got customers with cua that made good experiences when application servers access it. Others with Seventen10 Gateway.
Make your choice dependent on things like?nuber of connections, high availability requirements as well es backup

If you don't want to (or don't have the expertise) to interface with api, CUA is the best option for cifs/nfs.

before you go down CUA road understand its limitations in terms number of concurrent sessions (CIFS and NFS). It's a very low number and if you exceed that number all performance discussions with EMC will be very painful.

Hello Dynamox,
Any link where to find the limitations ? any idea on how many concurrent sessions are permitted ?
Many Thanks,

I did not see a version 4.2 Guide.

Last Question :
on the https://support.emc.com/docu10327_Centera-Universal-Access-4.1-Monitor-and-Administration-Guide.pdf?language=en_US we talk about CNRCUAISW <==> CNR INT BOX CUA SW what we have is
CNACUAISW <==> CENTERA INTERNAL BOX CUA SW
Can any body explain the difference between CNRCUAISW and CNACUAISW
I suspect that CNRCUAISW is related to SINGLE CUA NODE G4 and CNRCUAISW is related to SINGLE CUA NODE G4LP
Any body know anything about this ?
Thank You,
