Windows file-level restore proxy, it can be Win 64 bits?
I am installing a proxy for restore images, but my standard in the company is since the last year, only 64 bits installation, Anyone knows if its works?
I am reading the PDF Guide P/N 300-011-626 REV A07 and only mention in page 94 this one:
Create virtual machine
1. Create a clean Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2 (32-bit) or Windows Server 2008 (32-bit) virtual machine with the following characteristics:
• 1 CPU
• 1 GB RAM
• 8 GB hard disk space
Does anyone knows if it can works in 64 bits?

The OS on the proxy must be 32-bit for FLR to work correctly.

yes its fine using win 2k8 sp2, and you can use framework 3.5 is fine as well. just make sure you grab the right version of VIX API. you need 1.10.3 from vmware's website http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vix-api/

Please keep in mind that the .NET 2.0 framework and the .NET 3.5 framework are separate frameworks, they are not different versions of the same framework.

Software written for the .NET 2.0 framework requires the .NET 2.0 framework. Software written for the .NET 3.x framework requires the .NET 3.x framework. One is not a replacement for the other.

Hello,
Is this 32-bit requirement also valid for Avamar 6.1? There is no information included at all in 300-013-353 EMC Avamar 6.1 for VMware User Guide.

You don't need a Windows box to do FLR in 6.1. This functionality is built in to the new all-in-one proxy.
