Refresh virtual dev from physical prod
Considering this tool, but I don't have it yet. I need to refresh the dev environment with a 5 TB SQL Server DW. The production is a physical host and the dev server is a virtual machine.
how do I do this refresh? Will I need to do RDMs in the VM and ensure only the data drives are mapped?

AppSync supports PtoV, and it will create and map RDMs to the VMs. You will register the vCenter server in AppSync, with an admin user, which gives AppSync the authority to create and map devices, so you will not create the target devices or map them, that is what AppSync does.
AppSync protects SQL data and logs, but does not protect the system databases, so should be on different LUNs. Please refer to the User and Administration Guide for more details.
