How can I manage Cassandra (or other NoSQL) with AppSync?

We are just now considering using AppSync to manage MS SQL Server snapshots for backups, data warehouse loading and devops testing.  Now a new technology is being introduced into the mix.  We are investigating Cassandra as a NoSQL DB for use in our information processing mix.

Will we have any leverage with AppSync snapshots for Cassandra?

I browsed around Google and found no real information about AppSync with Cassandra or other NoSQL DBs.  We would be looking for the same snapshot functions as we plan for MS SQL Server - backups, data warehouse loading and devops testing.

Hi Bill,

Sure, you can utilize file systems. I assume Cassandra just sits on a Windows host, and AppSync supports replicating Windows file systems. AppSync also offers the ability to utilize "callout" scripts with file systems. Please note, these are not the same as pre/post replication scripts seen in the UI. Please read up on "callout" script in the User and Administration guide.

There are also some advancements with the 3.1 release, expected December 14th, so please review the readme notes when it comes out.
