1) When will Appsync be available?

Hi Tony,
Thanks for your question.
As this is a new product, things can change, but this is the current plan.
Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian:
I am very interesting in AppSync for Exchange. 2 more questions.
1. What's dirrerent between AppSync and ItemPoint?
2. Will AppSync come with VNX Application Protection Suite?

Hi David,
EMC AppSync is a replication management product that helps to automate replication of critical applications and ensure recoverability and SLA timeframes. EMC ItemPoint is an optional component for single item and single mailbox Microsoft Exchange recovery scenarios. We're exploring a similar technology for single SharePoint items as well.
When EMC AppSync is available later this year it will be available as an optional add-on component to the VNX Application Protection Suite.

Dear Brian:
Thanks for your explaination.
I attended the AppSync session in EMC World 2012 and impressed with it's item recovery feature.
After introduced to some of Exchagne customers, they are all impressed with it.
If AppSync not available now, how about ItemPoint for Exchange single message recovery?
I am competing with NetApp Snap Manager for Exchange. NetApp offer FAS3210 with Snap Manager for Exchange. I am offering VNX5300 to customer.
Regards,
David

Hi David,
Itempoint is also available for Replication Manager (available today). Our goal is to keep the transition as smooth as possible. In the VNX/Microsoft space we will slowly transition to AppSync (to keep things simple, efficient, and powerful like VNX). You should position the Application Protection Suite w/Replication Manager and include optional ItemPoint today - over time they can move to AppSync (we will make the switchover as easy as we can).
Thanks
Brian
