m16 R1, desktop icons intermittently frozen/unselectable

Per title, occassionally and apparently randomly the desktop icons 'freeze' and aren't selectable. This is not a system freeze though as the taskbar and open windows function correctly and the desktop icons can be accessed via windows explorer, once this is done the desktop unfreezes. It doesn't happen often, maybe 3 times in the past week and I haven't been able to associate any causal action to this, it seems to be random.

Alienware m16 R1, i9-13900HX, RTX 4060, 64Gb RAM, 2x4tb SSDs.

With some more searching it appears to not be specific to alienware and is a windows issue occurring on multiple manufacturers, occurring when the machine is left idle for 20+ minutes.

Removing the widgets feature apparently solves it, I have done so but can't yet confirm if it has worked.

My newly bought used machine is giving same glitch. Apparently, changing widget settings does help. Thanks
