Cracked laptop case of 15R3, possible to fix with just glue?

Hi,

My Alienware 15 R3 had a very unfortunate accident where it fall and hit with its edge some hard object. The damage hasnt been super-bad and laptop itself works fine. However the case in front-right corner area got damaged. There is a crack in the front through which I can see my baby insides and small scratch/bended corner on the top.

I really want to somehow "fix" it as having a hole in your laptop doesnt generally seem good idea. I am thinking about just putting some superglue there and holding it tightly until it sticks and closes. As for the scratch and bended corner I guess I will have to live with it...

Any better ideas/recommendations how to best help my poor damaged baby...?

Superglue (cyanoacrylate) likely won't hold - it does not bond parts that are stressed well.  Epoxy might - but it won't look great and you'll need to be very careful applying it so it doesn't seep on to electronic parts.  The only permanent solution is to replace the damaged parts.  While the parts won't be inordinately expensive, the work involved in replacing them will be significant.

If you are good with your hands, you could buy some black sugru for the corner  https://sugru.com/tech-gadget   It has exactly the same colour and texture. and get a skin for the top surface with the big crack. you would have to get  the stress bend out of it first.

Personally i would get a new part if possible.

For posterity:

I decided to not do anything about this crack to avoid risking damaging my laptop further. Although I did take it to computer repair shop once and was told that this "crack" is weird, because the laptop hinges should just come back together easily, so it must be something inside preventing from doing it.

2 years later i finally decided to disassemble  my alienware (for different reasons), the crack was much more worse by then, but i think i might have discovered what was preventing laptop from "closing" - a bulge on laptop battery
