Ethernet port flashing when computer off?

Hey guys,

Last night I noticed that where I plug the ethernet cable into the computer it was flashing when the computer was off. What does this mean? I turned the computer on then turned it back off and it stopped.

Yellow Activity LED = The LAN controller is receiving or transmitting data
Green Link LED = A good connection exists between a 10Mbps network and the computer
Orange Link LED = A good connection exists between a 100Mbps network and the computer
Yellow Link LED = A good connection exists between a 1GB (1000-Mbps) network and the computer
Off Link LED = The computer is not detecting a physical connection to the network

Thanks Chris,  but why would the computer be receiving a connection when it is off though? Every other time my computer is off there has never been a light flashing. I turned the computer on and then off again and the light went away?

If a computer is on a powered socket the ethernet card is always on. This is used for a feature called "wake-on-lan" so you can remotely turn on a pc/server.
