Can anyone help me install a PCIe card in my R5?
Hi,
I just bought a new firewire card that apparently needs to be powered. Unfortunately it has a molex type connector on it but none of the power cables coming from the PSU are suitable. Has anyone else had this problem? I tried searching the net but keep drawing a blank, guess I'm not using the right terms.
Any help would be appreciated!

You can use a SATA-Power to 4-pin Molex adapter. It works because Molex only needs/supports 5v and 12v (3v is not used).

What card did you buy? I've bought two so far and neither fit.
Also, I was wondering about that power connector myself. Had you tried to use the card without using that? I've read that a lot of people said it is not needed if you are just transferring data, such as video from a camcorder. They said it is only needed if the device you're connecting to gets its power from the firewire card. Not sure if that's true or not.
