Alienware Aurora Factory Reset Help

I'm new to owning an Alienware and very wrongly assumed it to be just a beefed up version of any other desktop. I received this computer from a friend who had other problems with it. I have been trying to FR it since I've gotten it and have tried AlienRespawn (hasn't actually done anything...) and used F8 at startup but there hasn't been any options other than System Restore (has two restore points from a few days ago) and System Repair I think that didn't have any options in it. I've heard from other forums and such that there should be an option under "Command Prompt" but there isn't. I'm not the most computer savvy so I'm not sure what I should post so I can be helped.

I have also gotten a blue screen a couple of times for 0x0000007F but I'm not sure at all what to do about it. I have run multiple memory diagnostics but they all came back empty-handed. Please help, I'll post additional information as requested.

Hi,

You can restore the system to factory settings using Alien Respawn as long as you have the recovery partition available, did it detect the recovery partition in your hard drive? Try running an ePSA/Diagnostic test on the system, click here to view a Dell article that explains how to run this test. Let us know if you receive any errors.

When I do use AR, it has an option for "Factory Reset" but it was created the day after I had downloaded AR and when I ran it, nothing actually changed (as far as I am aware at least).

I ran the PSA+ and it crashed midway the first time with an error code 2000-0111 on Memory March LA Test. The second time I did it, I recieved the error codes 2000-0123 and 2000-0142. I took pictures of each one on my phone, I'm just waiting for google to unlock my account for me (completely unrelated). I've tried to use these error codes on the Dell support but it asks me for a validation code which I don't recall seeing anywhere.

Hi,

Unfortunately, error code 2000-0123 is for memory failures and code 2000-0142 is for a hard drive failure. Its hard to say which component could be causing the blue screens, it is probably the ram. You could try removing the ram sticks and testing them one at a time by running the PSA memory test, this way you will know which module may be faulty. As far as the hard drive, we recommend replacing it.
