R7 buzzing sound, opened up case, fan fell out

Has anyone else encountered this? My Alienware Aurora R7 has been making a buzzing sound as of late (had the computer for about 3 months). So I open it up to investigate, swing the bracket open, and the top fan drops down along with the piece above that the fan attaches to. I see a hole where a screw goes in, but no screw. Not to mention, there's this green string thing attached to the chassis. A bit disappointed, I thought the quality control on Alienware would be better.  :TongueTied:

AFAIK, no-one has ever posted this.

However, I do remember an Aurora-R6 user posted about a noisy Front Fan. Inspection revealed the fan and/or mounting has broken. Probably, due to a shipping-drop on that corner. IIRC, Dell fixed it under warranty.

No, the Aurora-R5/R6/R7 is not built like a tank ... like the Aurora-R1/R2/R3/R4 were. However, now-days ... people like cheap, light, small foot-print, etc. :Indifferent:

I'm experience a buzzing/whine as well (I've had my rig maybe 2 weeks) and I haven't opened up my rig yet, but now I'm wondering if I maybe should... dang. How'd things end up for you, did Dell fix the problem?

Hi @cest_zaza,

You can send me a PM with the Service Tag so I can assist you further.

@Shailo, please open the case and check where the noise comes from. Let me know!
