Aurora R8 GPU upgrade to MSI RTX 4070 Ti SUPER 16G VENTUS 2X OC

Greetings,

I would like to upgrade my Aurora R8 GPU to https://ca.msi.com/Graphics-Card/GeForce-RTX-4070-Ti-SUPER-16G-VENTUS-2X-OC/Specification

Dimensions L 242 x W 125 x H 51 mm

My concerns are the card's width of 125mm and power connector adapter. I want to ensure that there is enough room for both.

good news is that a user uploaded msi 4070 Ti super in R7, which has same case as R8.

No one has uploaded 4070 Ti benchmark in R8.

this user validated MSI 4070 Super in R8

MSI(1462 5138)

MSI RTX 4070 12 GB (Ventus 2X), 242 x 125 x 43 mm

problem is although this card is 125 mm wide too, it has 8 pin and not 16 pin of the 4070 Ti Super.

I installed the video card in my machine. Dimensions are suitable. Problem is with the power adapter which requires 35mm clearance, I still have to slightly bend it to close the case.

@michael_du They do make 90 degrees aftermarket versions of the adaptor cables, but I read somewhere that recently some company recalled them due to a possible malfunction issue.

You could go that route to solve the issue, but I would only buy from a reputable brand.

R8 I7-9700K overclocked @ 4700 all cores. 5GHz possible but not that stable. Power 850. Upgrade 2080 to Asus Dual 4070 Super EVO. Card is small (21cm), temp are less than before ! 50 °C on war thunder (144FPS), 75 on Jedi Survivor (144FPS) full. Adaptor in the Asus box.
