Aurora R13, help upgrading to Alienware's Cryo-tech cooler
Alienware Aurora R13
I bought an Alienware Aurora R13 a few months ago and it came with the regular water cooled cooler.
I would love to upgrade to the Cryo-tech solution as it would hopefully help keep my system a little more quiet and cool.
I tried calling Dell and they said they're only offering storage and ram upgrades.
If you can direct me to a place where I can purchase such an upgrade of if someone here changed their cooler and would like to sell the cryo-tech one and ship it to me for a fair price (I live in Israel) you'll make my day.
Thanks in advance.

I replaced the case fans with Noctua IPPC NF-F12 case fans, radiator fan with a IPPC NF-F12 and NF-A12x15 for push/pull. Use Throttlestop or Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and work on the voltage off-set. Mine was best at -0.105mV.
Here's a breakdown of how mine was.

Upgraded my Aurora R13 from Alienware Cryotech 120mm AIO to Deepcool LS520 240mm AIO, and dropped temps tremendously on 12900KF CPU!
I went from max temp reached of 72C to 49C running 5.1 All Core while 4K gaming.
My 3090 GPU temp only increased 3C, since I’m having to run the AIO as an intake with the Alienware case.
I’m running the AIO radiator fans at full speed, and they are very quiet. Absolutely zero sound from the pump as well.
I’m very happy with results, and my purchase. I personally recommend this AIO!

Cryotech will have you crying too. The 120mm radiator is not a viable cooling solution for the 12th gen processors (even throttled). Consider adding a 240mm radiator like this example from @Real_Boy85

concur. Cryotech liquid cooler and regular liquid cooler are both 120 mm CLC made by Asetek for Dell.
Cryotech pump has LED rim, while regular cooler pump logo looks like older Aurora models. both liquid coolers have LED 120mm rad fan.
PS based on report, both options sold for R13 but only the regular liquid cooler for R14 (in addition to 65w air cooler).

Kryo Tech is just a marketing move by DELL, the best solution is 240 AIO on the front panel!

I'm definitely considering it but I would like to make as little changes to my original config as I can.
If I'll fail to find the cooler I would probably go this route.

Both reviews and Dell itself say the Cryo-tech cooler show around 10% improvement in thermals.

I don't need OP cooling as I only use the machine for gaming and the cpu is power throttled anyway.
I'm also pretty sure replacing the cooler would void the warranty and I thought I could get away with it if I used Dell's original cooler.
Could you please link the one you used? If I'll fail to find Dell's cooler I'll look into this solution.

Re: Both reviews and Dell itself say the Cryo-tech cooler show around 10% improvement in thermals.
it is possible. Asetek non-oem 120mm CLC:
The 650LS HEX is 120 x 120 x 27mm while the HEX dimensions on the 650LX are 120 x 120 x 49mm.
presumably the 49 mm radiator has better cooling than 27 mm one.
however, a thick 120 mm cannot compete with 240 or 360 mm AIO, as illustrated by ekwb
If we compare the super thick single XE 120 with the slim triple SE 360, we will see how much advantage a bigger cooling surface has over a small thick radiator. The 60mm thick 120mm CLC is not even close to the slim triple radiator regarding performance.

Hello
Dell sales explained me that 27wxg is a completed assembly cryotech liquid cooling system and 4p81y is only cryotech liquid cooling without bracket and fan and it is $90.97, but always is out of stock. That code is used at Dell outlet for Alienware Aurora r13 with cryotech liquid cooling .
Thank you for the information .

Do take into consideration upgrade cost vs diminished benefit in doing this upgrade. One thing to consider is the temp of the room. A slightly better AIO will not overcome a hot room. The best thing to improve cooling is to make sure there's good airflow around the computer and maybe a fan that will move air around the computer better. For example, I placed my son's computer underneath his desk between a wall and desk drawers, effectively placing the computer in an enclosed space. While this made his room look cleaner, his computer would always overheat. I moved the desk drawer to the other side and it dropped his temps by 10 degs by just improving the airflow around his computer. What was happening before was that the computer case fans would blow hot air out and getting trapped in that enclosed space, warming the ambient temp around the computer.

The computer sits on my desk with only one wall behind him (they're a few cm away, not touching) so I don't think air flow is my problem.
I use the machine for 4k gaming so the fans ramp up quickly when playing games, only solution I see for getting better/same performance without raising the noise even more is replacing the cooler.

Thank you for replying.
I would like to make as little changes to my original config as possible, that's why I was looking for Dell's cryo-tech cooler.
If I won't be able to find one I'll look into 240mm solutions.
Are there any disadvantages for implementing 240mm radiator in the R13?
