Aurora R11, can't enable overclock in the BIOS?

So I have an Alienware Aurora R11 and I want to overclock it now. The thing is, when I go into the bios to try enable the overclock, it won't let me. when i click on the drop down to enable it it doesn't do anything. Also no options for overclocking (except for GPU) in AWCC.

overclock is not on demand

Alienware Aurora R11 has 10th Gen Intel® Core™ processors

Aurora R11 Documentation

only the "K" CPUs can be overclocked and they require the liquid cooling option and VRM heatsink option. The F and KF CPUs do not support integrated graphics, they require UEFI GPU.  Non Dell GPU's require secure boot OFF in F2 bios.

I did a bios upgrade once and so I entered the bios setup and options are greyed out,  After I used f6 though to restore default.. everything was available.

You do not need OEM ram, Nor do you "need" liquid cooling, recommended not required. Only stipulation is K/KF branded Intel CPUs can OC as they are unlocked, F and non K can not OC.

OEM XMP Ram lol I OC just fine with my Vengeance RGB Pro Kit with the OEM kit in the trash.

don't say things that aren't true you'll have people believing they can't do anything with their PC outside of OEM parts

even with that XMP isn't needed to be enabled to OC, I mean you know.... Dell did break XMP on the R12 with a previous bios. No XMP but OC was fine, come on

"XMP isn't needed to be enabled to OC" This is false.

"Intel XMP is by definition an automated overclocking technology that enables motherboards to configure memory settings above and beyond the basic rated speeds of the PC "

The statement that XMP is not needed to OC is false. I disagree entirely.

INTEL Extreme memory profile xmp

I @speedstep did not "say things that aren't true "

@DELL-Chris M  clearly specifies that :

From a Dell warranty and policy perspective, a user should not expect OC & XMP without DELL OEM BIOS and DEL OEM tested/validated memory sticks
Dell does not support 3rd party RAM using non-tested/non-validated retail memory sticks .

Dell does not warranty Non OEM RAM will allow OC /XMP profiles or work without issues

Newer models ship with 3200MHz memory.

However 10th gen Aurora R11with

Intel Core i3/i5 processors, are limited to 2666MHz
Intel Core i7/i9 processors, are limited to 2933MHz

Alright dude,

XMP is NOT needed to OC a CPU, for a thread where the User is referring to Overclocking his CPU I don't know why you would throw out irrelevant information that is just wrong.

If I want to OC your ram then XMP is for that or do it manually.

i also don't care if you think someone calling out false information is a personal attack, it's not

Going to end this with OP you need a K/KF series CPU otherwise the OC settings are grayed out that's it

As long as no aftermarket components have been installed the the R11 is as per factory configuration, you might need to enter the BIOS and restore/apply the factory defaults.

I have had this happen in the past were some menu's were greyed out and loading the defaults fixed it.

His AWCC software isn't picking up his CPU as an OC capable CPU, but He also didn't mention what CPU he has. Might have an F and thought it would be able to be OCd since Dell does mention OC capable no matter what config you have

Alright thanks. I have a "F" CPU so I guess I can't overclock. Oh well. Thanks anyways.

I have all of that and I cannot overclock either. Keeps resetting. BTW, why do you yell all the time?
