How to uninstall sound drivers...?

I want to test upgrading my current Voyetra Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound driver v5.12.1.4161 (which is the Dell OEM driver, Microsoft signed,4/26/02) with the latest v5.12.1.4193 (6/27/03) as I have certain PC lockups with certain operations that are driver related. The latest driver comes as an executable file that automatically uninstalls previous versions. Is it better for me to uninstall sound drivers myself before upgrading? If so, how do I do this? In the Add/Remove Programs from Control Panel the sound drivers are not listed. Should I try Device Manager?
Thanks.

If the new driver automatically uninstalls the old one, go with what the new driver does.  Depending on what the new driver is looking for, if you uninstall the old drivers it may not install as something it's looking for and needs is gone.
