30yearexpert, When I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 5537 with WINDOWS 8, IT CAME WITH Internet Explorer 10.  I COULD NOT UPDATE TO Internet Explorer 11 UNTIL I UPDATED TO windows 8.1.  This puzzled me.  It was not until I updated to Windows 8.1 that Internet Explorer 11 was installed along with it. 

Now back to my original question. My sister wants me to update her Internet Explorer 10 to 11.  Will I be able to do that if she is running windows 8? Or will she have to wait until she gets Windows 8.1. 

theflash1932,  Thanks that explains why I cannot download it to a Windows 8 Machine.  I wonder why Microsoft did it this way? 

I suspect it has to do with supporting OS code. Every version of Windows has had a "native" version IE with it, and 8.1's is 11. The request to have IE11 but NOT 8.1 is a little odd though too ... is there a specific reason for that?
