Venue 11 Pro 7140 compatible with PCIe SSD?
I understand the Venue 11 Pro 7140 takes a SSD of form factor m.2 2280, also known as NGFF 2280 (first-generation Venue 11 Pro takes the shorter 2260).
I also understand that the bus interface of the m.2 2280 SSD drive that the 7140 ships with is SATA.
My question is about newer m.2 2280 SSD drives that use the faster PCIe bus interface. Is the 7140 compatible with them, and will the drive be faster on the 7140 than a SATA SSD? Or should I stick with the older, slower SATA?

I don't think the system bus is 'forward compatible' like that. If I remember correctly if it was an NVME M.2 you could use the SSD or NVMD (PCIe) version, but not the other way around.
