Dell Optiplex 7070 micro - Adding optional HDMI port - Part number ?

Hey guys

I'm looking to add a HDMI port to a 7070 Micro

Currently I have 2 x DP and I am looking to run a 3rd screen

In the manual it lists - . DisplayPort/HDMI 2.0b/VGA/USB Type-C Alt-Mode (optional)

There is a knock out blank for the port at the back of the chassis , Can anyone advise on part numbers please ?

Tech support only offer Graphics cards for the SFF models which dont fit

Any advice much appreciated

Call Dell Spare Parts (USA 1-800-357-3355, Canada 1-866-440-3355) and ask for price and availability of the Dell 5 digit part number.

your best bet is to ask Dell community manager because they have access to internal DP/N of a part that is rarely used in public.  there is an optional module you can order.

Thanks for the suggestions guys , very helpful

Its interesting that the display port looks to be the correct part but people have been complaining it doesnt fit the motherboard in the reviews?

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/accessories/apd/492-bbzy

I wonder if anyone else in the community have successfully installed this DP adaptor or the HDMI?

I have had 2 sessions with Tech support and both have tried to sell me Graphics cards meant for the SFF or tower which dont fit the micro

I  called my account manager and they could not find a part number.

I am positive this is a daughter board with cable and screws.

@DELL-Chris M    may have better information.

thanks for trying , I am holding off purchase on a 7070 micro as I need a triple monitor set up

I have to be able to buy an accessory part so I can install it

Its a pity dell don't list the part numbers in the user manual for the optional parts ...dell.JPG

Thank you very much!

I ordered the part and it arrived today and works great!

I just wish I had found this sooner before entrusting my system to Dell Technical Support.  I had ordered a third DisplayPort and been working with Dell Tech Support for over a month to get that to work.

They kept sending me instructions on how to daisy chain my monitors (assuming I have monitors that can do that).

The last thing they sent me was:
"I understand that you purchased the 3rd port after checking the details on our website. However it is a limitation that the system can use only 2 DP ports at once."

Thank you again...this has restored my faith in Dell (but lost faith with Dell Tech Support)

I am as well.

@Dellmanners, did you get it from the Dell Spare Parts number?

How does the knockout blank work. Do you have to remove something? Or does the part fit through the cross-shaped opening?

Thanks.

@TomXFD Any luck finding a part number for the USB Type-C with DP Alt mode module?

@reinylegit

The knockout is exactly that.  A metal piece that you knock completely out, and then you screw in the HDMI port.  It has two tiny spot welds keeping the "plate" on.  The screws go in from the outside, and the additional port has the lugs for those screws on the inside face of the case.
