HP inkjet on network
My inkjet is connected, and prints fine. But it isn't letting me switch to double sided print. And my printer icon is not on the taskbar. I've looked around, and can't seem to find any explanation what you do to use a printer on a network. I'm not sure if I should install the CD. Can someone update me on the proper procedure?

Some of the advanced features of inkjet printers may not work over a network. For example my HP932C works fine over the network, but I cannot use the tools menu to check ink levels and clean or align the print heads over the network. You might try installing the printer software from the CD and see if that makes it work, but you would have to install on the computer that is connecting over the network. I assume it is already installed on the computer connected directly to the printer.

How did you add it?
When I try installing from my printer CD, the computer freezes up. Just an hourglass waiting. So I have to shut down. There should be a procedure somewhere.

As I said, the printer works to print (didn't you say yours works), but the advanced features in the HP toolbox do not work over the network. Have you tried contacting HP?

Yes, there is a way to do it, but you should post a new message instead of jumping in to an existing thread, then tell us which version(s) of Windows are installed on each of the printers. It gets very confusing trying to answer different questions in the same thread.
