10Gbe Ethernet switches, copper ports, not sfp / fiber.
My question is in regards to 10G base-T Ethernet switches. Any plans for Dell to make a 10G Ethernet switch (copper ports, not sfp fiber) for small business users? Something we can just plug CAT 6e / CAT 7 Ethernet cables into and get the 10G speed on our servers with 10G copper network cards.
Right now only Netgear seems to make them, meaning affordable models for a small business, in 8 and 12 port models but they are VERY loud from what I hear in the reviews, so not the best option for a small office (without a dedicated equipment room) needing the extra throughput of 10G Ethernet.
The only 10G Ethernet, copper cable based switch, that Dell seems to have 24 or more ports and cost many thousand dollars, over least expensive switch is over $7,000 so WAY more firepower than I'm talking about. So, any plans for Dell to make any smaller 10G Ethernet Copper wire switches in the 8, 12, or 16 port capacity for a smaller budget?
The Netgear switches are listed here, the 8 port model can be found for under $900 and the 12 port model for around $1,500. I haven't found any other vendor offer anything close to this price range. http://www.netgear.com/landing/10gigabit/

Dell offers the PowerConnect 8132 (24 RJ45 (copper) ports with an optional module for 2x40Gbit ports, 4 x RJ45 or 4 x SFP+ ports), 8164 (48 RJ45 ports with 2 (fixed) 40Gbit ports and the same expansion options as the 8132 on top of that), and they offer the Force10 S4820, which is similar in hardware specs to the PowerConnect 8164.
So they have several options for 10Gbit with RJ45 (copper) ports.

Thank you for the reply, I've updated my original post to be more specific. I'm really interested in a 8 or 12 port 10Gbe copper switch, that is affordable. Thank you for the info on a few Dell models I didn't know about but we're still talking about $7,000 for their 24 port copper 10Gbe switch. I'm thinking about 10Gbe on a much smaller scale. The 8 port Netgear is about $900, and the 12 port model can be found for around $1,500...nothing from any other vendor comes close to this. I do a lot with virtualization and large file copies in a good size home office, I'm an IT consultant, so I'm looking for a lower cost solution for just a few nodes connected at 10Gbe. Unfortunately NIC teaming just isn't what I'm looking for and I've worked with it extensively.

Zyxel is releasing their 10Gbe switch soon. Not sure on pricing yet but I would guess in the $1,200 - $1,600 range. www.zyxel.com/.../xs1920_series.shtml
It would still be nice to see Dell come out with something like this for a very competitive price.
