U2711, OSD buttons not working
I've had this monitor connected to my PC for about 4 hours, and have yet to get the OSD menu buttons on the right pane of the monitor to work. The buttons all light up when powering on the monitor. But once the monitor is on and displaying the image from my PC, none of the buttons except the exit button get a reaction. When you press the exit button, the 'locked' padlock appears on the screen for about three seconds and then disappears.
The picture on the screen looks great from my PC, but I'd really like to use the OSD buttons to access the preset color configurations like I was accessing on the one in the store. Is there a way to 'unlock' these buttons? I really don't want to take this thing all the way back to the store.

* Power off the PC
* Power off the monitor
* Disconnect the power cable from the monitor
* Disconnect all monitor cables from the PC (USB, DVI, VGA, DisplayPort, HDMI, etc.)
* While disconnected, press and hold the monitor power button down for 5 seconds
* Reconnect a single video cable to the monitor and to the PC video card
* Reconnect the power cable to the monitor
* Power on the monitor if it does not power on by itself
* Power on the PC
* Press the monitor Input Source Select button and choose the applicable video cable source

Press and hold down the OSD Menu button for about 10-15 seconds. What happens?

When the OSD is locked, touching the menu button for 15 seconds will unlock and allow user access to all applicable settings.
When the OSD is unlocked, touching the menu button for 15 seconds will activate the Menu Lock function.

Chris,
I followed the directions above exactly as you described outlined. The Input select button does not react when touched. None of the other buttons except the exit button react when touched. When you touch the exit button, the blue lock icon appears on the screen.

I'm not sure how but my monitor was stuck in locked mode and was stuck on DVI-1. I was trying to switch it over to DisplayPort but holding the menu button did nothing. My problem was there was no input for DVI-1. It just kept searching. Holding the menu button didn't work until the monitor had an input source.

Aktivo,
If still under warranty, get it replaced. If you only have a monitor order number, you should contact DELL-Cares. If your monitor was purchased tied to a Dell PC, contact Technical Support. They will need the following data -
Email Address:
Name:
Shipping Address:
Phone Number:
Monitor Order number or PC Service Tag number:
Monitor 20 digit PPID number:
