Latitude 5520 imaging issues

I have downloaded the CAB for the Latitude model and imported it into our MDT system. When i image the computer it says no Boot Device is accessible. I attempted to fix this by going out and getting a Intel RST driver since the computer was on Raid by default. The drivers didn't work. I changed the system out of the Raid configuration and it booted up without a problem. But when I complete the image there is a list of 19 drivers that are not loaded including the ethernet driver. I have verified the other computers I image regularly are still imaging correctly so I dont think it is an issue with my system. I am wondering if there is an issue with the CAB? I noticed some other users had similar issues recently.

Hello, I just wanted to check in since it has been a month, did you have any luck with this? I am just starting with the 5520's and having the same issues

@dashihawk @PUClientAdmin  We are too. Any luck?

@ConnorB and @dashihawk yes, we were able to get it resolved late last week. Sorry for not updating and I hope this helps.

The ADK version installed on our imaging server was from win 1703 and no one had thought to update it since it had continued to work. After a uninstall and reinstall of the new ADK, and then recreating the PXE environment everything started working correctly.

What version of ADK did you upgrade to?  We are running ADK 1803 and having this issue also.

Did you have any issues imaging your older systems after updating the ADK to 2004?

Change the harddrive in the BIOS from Raid to UEFI

  • Ya know what I did I don't image Operating Systems as you do all day make but I believe this will work.Make a 7 gigabyte partition format it to ntfs go to microsoft download the latest version of win 10 or 11 or whatever your os Is now it tries to redirect you around a bit don't let it Microsoft and their games eventually you will get to the O.S. download page pick the 64b bit version with multi language or whatever language you want that's just what I did , now download the .iso file to that 7 gig partition you made it's a hefty size .iso 5.7 gigs I believe oh don't let it download to it's default location unless you want to move or copy then delete a 6 gig file with a somewhat fast connection it should be done 12 or 15 minutes or quicker now boot either from your original install disk or from a back up iso or directly from the pe environment if it will let you but any if non of those things are an option for you download the latest    Hirens boot disk ya the original maker stopped maintaining it years ago but a bunch of guys from git hub took over the duties and now it's even more awesome than ever and looks good to but anyways make download the iso a quick Google search will provide you the URL now down load that .iso to the default download directory because if you did make that partition 7 gigs oh make it at the end of the drive it's just easier I just expanded it then deleted it when I was done. now you can make a bootable flashdrive with the supplied in Hirens boot disk RUFUS ALSO IT WILL ASK YOU IF YOU WANT PERSISTANCE CHECH YES AND GIVE IT AS MUCH GIGS AS YOU WANT NOW YOU CAN download in a live environment and it won't be gone at reboot Hirens is great to have it cracks passwords directly from the system sam file and does a thousand other things and is super useful to have once the bootable flashdrive is done oh windows bootable software to make install media is pretty good I used it before a while back and it worked each time and it has a dual layer DVD option or flash drive make sure flashdrive is at least 16 gigs because you want to use the rest for PERSISTANCE now in Hirens boot disk find the program windows pe enviroment    and start the program and reboot go through the motions hit any key to beet from disk after you configure your bios for the flash drive to be botted from it use to be make it first in boot order but it doesn't d it that way anymore once you get into the pe environment go to the 7 gig partition and use the mount as virtual drive option it saves time and it works once it's says mounted click on it and start the install process your NVME DRIVE SHOULD BE THERE NOW ASSUMING YOUR IN AHCI.BOOT MODE AND IN A VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT BBACK UP WHATEVER YOU NEED and do a fresh install on the new NVME drive what's good about doing fresh installs of late is if you keep a live wired connection it will update all the driver and any other thing that needs updating Microsoft really has stepped up in some areas of late finish the install if you want you can just copy everything over from the old drive to new drive the just delete it and reformat it this method is proven to work after I had many many problems on my Dell 7280 hope this helps and all goes well
