Webcam driver for windows 7

I've just installed windows 7 on my 1750 laptop and now my webcam doesn't work properly.  I've installed webcam centre but it won't recognise the web cam because it has no driver.

Skype can however see the webcam as it's using windows standard drivers.

Does anyone know how to get webcam centre working in windows 7?  it's doing my head in.....

web cam manager is not compatible with win 7 at the moment. Only Dell knows when or if it will be updated

Hi All

I will install Windows 7 64 bits soon on my Vostro 1720 and I am gathering its drivers and programs.

I’d like to download the  Dell webcam manager for Win7 64bits.

On Dell.com, on the Drivers’ page, when I choose “Windows 7 64 bits” in the drop down menu, I cannot find the application Dell webcam manager

Why? Will it be added soon?

Thanks,

David

Hello missscotia,

I have the same laptop and have searched everywhere for the solution to this problem for quite some time, and have finally come up with a working solution. This has been verified to work on Windows 7 64-bit.

These files are actually for the Dell Inspiron 1440 laptop (which my fiancee has) but the camera is the same in both the 1750 and 1440.

The files you will need are as follows. You will need both files in order to install the webcam. You can find them by searching for them on Google:

(R216115) R216115.exe - Webcam Drivers
(R230103) Dell_SX2210-Monitor_Webcam SW RC1.1_ R230103.exe - Webcam Central

I truly hope this works as well for you as it did for me!

Cheers,
Joe

Hello, everyone:

I do have the same problem with my VOSTRO 1700, I changed from Vista to Windows 7 ultimate 32 bits and the driver doesn´t wanna work anymore, getting this message:

"Mensaje de error :Zip damaged: file C:\dell\drivers\R229400\AvatarCr\AVCSetup.exe: Bad CRC 541b0965 (should be 0c6c9ea3). Possible cause: File transfer Error."

Anybody can help me? I am afraid I only need the right driver.

Greetings. Thank you.

Dextechr,

Please read below and answer the questions.

Try reading...

Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software

Also try running the Webcam Diagnostics

Did the webcam show in the symptom tree?

Any error messages?

Is the computer under warranty?

Hi, I bought a Inspiron 560 (not a laptop) using an Sx2210 monitor running on windows 7. I tried both of your suggestions, but it didn't work.

My webcam isn't showing up under devices and printers; however, it is integrated into the computer.

Whenever I go into Dell Webcam Central, it says that there is no supported device/ camera, and other programs too.

I've also tried downloading the facial recognition software, but it says it can't find my webcam, which I don't understand, as it is integrated into the computer.

I've even went back and re-installed the software and drivers for the webcam- and it's futile.

What should I do? Please help!
