Inspiron 1705 and a Nextel phone.

I have an Inspiron 1705 with bluetooth. I also have a Motorola(Nextel)I580 cell phone with bluetooth. I have no trouble pairing the two and using the cell phone feature between the two but the question i have is. Is it possible to use the Direct Connect feature with the nextel phone through the laptop? Is there a way i can set up a key on the keyboard to act as the direct button on the side of my phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The phone connects just fine with the notebook. But Nextel phones not only have the normal cell phone feature but they also have the Direct Connect)walkie talkie) feature. The direct connect id=s the feature i'm looking for help with.

I am not familiar with the offerings of Nextel. You may or may not be able to connect your phone to your computer.

Different cell phone companies have different policies.

I have Cingular and I can connect my PC up to my phone. Others that I know have Verizon and the OBEX File transfer feature is locked out.
