Do you know if the web camera ever worked and if so, when did it stop working?  Did your notebook ship with a web camera? They aren't always included by default, if you didn't order one while purchasing the notebook it may not have shipped with one.

The web camera on the N5050 uses native Windows 7 drivers.  If you have installed all the needed drivers the webcam should install itself.

Since you have just reinstalled Windows please make sure that you have installed the chipset driver, its absence could certainly cause problems with all USB devices, not just the webcam.  You can find the chipset driver on the following link.

ravula,

Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system? If yes, did you install the Dell System Software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct

Windows 7/8 is supposed to provide the webcam drivers for most Dell computers. If you system needs webcam drivers, go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag, then select your operating system. If your system needs webcam drivers, they'll be listed under Input.

Try reading...

Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software

You can try this file, also known as Dell Webcam Central.

Create a new unrestricted user account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?

If yes, log out and log back in to your account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?

If no, then the webcam became detached from the motherboard, usually near the webcam

If your computer is under warranty, contact Dell Tech Support

Hi ikhussain001,

Please elaborate the issue. May I know the exact system model and operating system installed on your computer; would be glad to assist.
