Battery and Serial Number

Hi All,

I bought a battery for my latitude E6500 from and ebay seller who sells the battery with

“ original” tag. It has a serial number and made in china. Is there any way I can check the authenticity

of the battery?   Any help is much appreciated

Thanks

Hi padani,

Please reply us with the System model number, PPID no. or the S/N no. of the battery by referring to the picture below on the battery you have purchased. This will help us to check if the battery is compatible with the system or not.

Hi Ravi,

Thanks for the quick reply. Please see below. I have copied what I see on the label. I may be wrong where it is a 'zero' and an 'O' . I have attached a pic too.

Though it has a Dell part number, the label makes it look more like a third-party cheap  knockoff - it does not look like an official Dell battery label.

Hi,

Thanks for all the help. I appreciate it. Bought it from an ebay seller. He markets it as an "Original" battery.

Some consumer electronics have a sticker on their bar codes.  I guess it had to do with importing goods from another country and when it is imported a sticker goes on top of the other bar code from the original packaging.  I guess they did this back in the 1960s up on consumer electronics because of serial number tracking and asset management for that country.

Hi padani,

Sorry for the delayed response. The battery is original but is not compatible with Dell latitude E6500.
