ATI Radeon X1400

I have a new E1705/9400 with the ATI Radeon X1400, when it came the driver was not installed so i downloaded the one from the dell site and now when i reboot or open catlyst control center debugger comes up with a process and thread error.  I loaded a fresh copy of XP media center with the backup cd and tried again.  It needed .NET Framework work installed so I uninstalled the ATI drivers installed framework and reloaded the driver and debugger still comes up at reboot and when trying open CCC and once when ati was installing it said that i needed to install the Standard VGA Driver, where can i get that and find out if i have the right one.  Also how can i verify that the x1400 is actually in my computer?

Download dotnetfix.exe from Microsoft and install it.  Reboot and that should eliminate any fatal execution error as well as the process, thread and the debugger pop up window.

The problem is related to problems with the dot net 1.1 framework.

Also, can the hard drive be reformated with the XP Pro Media Center backup disk from Dell?  When I re-installed I could not find the option to reformat first.

thanks, i will try that tomorrow.  I've heard a little about using the omega drivers, do they perform better the ATI drivers?
